Shadow work is an authentic way towards healing and transformation. This is the first post in a series where I share about how to heal and balance the chakras – our energetic centres of our body, with shadow work and Rose alchemy.

Why do I start with the 3rd eye?
The 3rd eye chakra, an energetic centre located between our eyebrows on the forehead is about our psychic perception, accurate interpretation of messages, imagination and clear sight.
Starting with this chakra, balancing, clearing and beginning the process of healing this energetic centre clears our system towards receiving the most accurate insight with regards to our own healing.
Many healers believe to start with the root chakra, and although I agree with this in essence, I have also seen in my own life and with my clients how clearing the 3rd eye energetic centre first of all brings the most clarity so we can heal on a deeper level. Then moving to the root, or other centres, is even more beneficial and grounding.
But traveling through your own energetic system is not a one size fits all, because we are cyclical beings and we each have our own way in what we feel called to. Use these posts and the medicine of them in you own way.

Correspondent Rose: White Rose
The Rose
One of the most beautiful and significant symbols of the Western Mysteries is the Rose.
The Rose has long been recognised as the Western equivalent of the Eastern Lotus as a symbol of the unfolding of higher consciousness. The Rose is an ancient plant consciousness, and she teaches us the subtle art of healing, and of slowing down.
Not only does the Rose heals us on all the levels of our energetic bodies – the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, but she also corresponds to each energetic centre in a very beautiful and profound way.
In Rose Shamanic tradition the White Rose is connected to the 3rd eye chakra.

The White Rose
The mantra of the white rose:
“I illuminate peace in the darkness”
The White Rose represents innocence, purity and the inner shadow, – also inner child hurt and suppression of innate gifts.
The White Rose is the portal into shadow work. She shows us that we can experience luminosity and the shadow, all at once.
The path of the Rose is a slow path of deep contemplation, of stillness, listening, patience, and embodiment. The consciousness of the Rose is perfect in its form and expression, and it’s one of the highest vibrational expressions that exists on this planet.
Working with Rose medicine gives us the ability to retrain us to the vibration of Source, to the vibration of Gaia, and the vibration of Venus.
She’s a gateway into the actual higher frequency we should be operating at, as well as a window into experiencing higher gnosis, higher wisdom, higher understanding, while being rooted and grounded into the Earth.
So by starting this journey with the White Rose and illuminating peace in the darkness – of ourselves and our own universe – we start a very profound healing journey into understanding where we can course correct, become more still and grounded, and see our shadow aspects that want healing and transformation.
The 3rd Eye and Shadow Work
The 3rd eye chakra is particularly important when it comes to the concept of the shadow and shadow work.
In order to integrate the shadow aspects of ourselves, we must have self-awareness and clear insight. Without these, we may fail to recognise our limiting beliefs, repeating patterns and shortcomings.
This then hinders our growth and healing and keeps us blind to who we truly are.
Therefore, integration of the shadow is all about knowing and loving our full self, so by healing, balancing and clearing the 3rd eye energetic centre integration of the shadow is supported.
How the Shadow manifests in the 3rd Eye centre
The ways in which the shadow manifests through the 3rd eye all relate to vision and insight. Below are some ways this can manifest:
- Denial
- Dreams
- Lack of Self-Awareness
- Attachment to an Illusion or Image
- Shaming and Discrimination of Religion and Spiritual Paths

How to begin…
Get yourself white roses and rose tea. Make an altar with a candle, some incense, crystals (or anything from the earth) and your roses.
Set time aside each day to sit in front of this altar to meditate, drink your tea and journal.
