How do I move through the world, while it’s burning?
How do I show up?
I want to share a quote that started a change within me, into what I know and live now.
It can be overwhelming to witness/experience/take in all the injustices of the moment; the good news is that they’re all connected. So if your little corner of work involves pulling at one of the threads, you’re helping to unravel the whole damn cloth. – Ursula Wolfe-Rocca
So how do we show up?
In a world where we should also live, thrive, empower, inspire, create, make a change, experience abundance, enjoy life, love, enjoy the world and all it has to offer, enjoy each other, breathe…
How do we show up in a time the world is crumbling and it seems like everything is going down the drain?
I can only speak from my own experiences, but I believe there’s something here for everyone, take what resonates with YOU.
I bear witness
I allow myself to witness what is truly happening without allowing it to take me too deep into the negativity. Although I believe we should also allow this to take us very deep, so we can truly learn to FEEL.
Feel the sacred rage. Awaken our sacred compassion.
I bear witness, but I stay grounded, and I stay healthy. I allow myself to rest when I need it.
I nourish myself on all levels, not just body, and I stay grounded in the moment, and in what I am witnessing.
Integration
I integrate what I’m learning, and also unlearning, and allow it to change me on a deep level.
This is inner alchemy.
This is something that can take time, and this means to allow yourself the time for this integration to happen.
Take responsibility for our shadow work
I look every trigger, every discomfort, every shadow square in the face, and I ask myself what is at the root of this.
It’s one of the most important aspects to the times we’re living in now – shadow alchemy.
There is no way towards peace on earth if we don’t take self-respnsibility for our own conditioning, and our own repeating destructive patterns and shadows.
Boundaries
I create healthy boundaries to honour myself and my time.
This means to listen to your body on such a deep level that you know what is right for you.
To say no to that which is not.
This will sometimes trigger others, but a boundary is a line in the sand of honouring yourself, and with time those around you will be empowered to also do it for themselves.
Enjoy life and its pleasures
Enjoying life is one of the most important things we must do, and yet, it’s one the first things that go out the door when we experience challenges and struggles.
It’s normal for this to happen!
So it will take a conscious effort to decide to keep on enjoying all the pleasures this beautiful life has to offer.
Read that book that takes you on an adventure and helps you escape the reality for a bit.
Eat and drink the things you enjoy. Make food for your family, celebrate LIFE with the people you love.
Take time off.
Live in the moment.
Last words…
My list will most definitely grow as I grow, integrate and learn/unlearn more from life and the burning world.
But to sum up the essence here – we need to know ourselves deeply and truly, we need to see all of ourselves, and I mean ALL, those aspect that you also don’t want to acknowledge and see within yourself.
Change starts within, as within so without, and if we are to BE the change in this world, we need to start by acknowledging that we have a lot to unlearn too.
All of this will also make us stronger to face the challenges and to be the strength the world needs from healthy communities.
All of this is the work we have to do in our little corner of the world – pulling at one of the threads, helping to unravel the whole damn cloth!
