When we journey with a plant ally, we tap into the wisdom of nature, and the wisdom of the specific plant we are working with. In this post I share about my journey with lavender a while back, to regulate my nervous system and gain inner wisdom from myself and also lavender.
Lavender
Lavender helps with improving mood, anxiety and depression. Lavender is known for its ability to calm the nervous system, lift the mood and even lower blood pressure. Lavender can help us regulate our nervous systems into calmer states activating the parasympathetic nervous system – the rest and digest state.
Plant initiation
When in communication with a plant ally we receive healing and higher consciousness from this plant.
It’s a subtle process to tap into our intuition on a deeper level, and gain insights into our path.
In July 2023 I journeyed with lavender and the following practices for 30 days. It brought profound regulation to my nervous system.
Little did I know our life was about to change in a big way a month later, rocking our foundations a bit.
This journey I did with lavender and the exercises I share here had formed a deep regulated foundation within my system, so that when our boat was rocked, I could face it with regulation and courage. And because I could operate from a stronger foundation, I could keep on creating, working, finding solutions and build a new foundation.
I truly believe a regulated nervous system is what’s needed in times of shifts and change, so you can keep on moving forward and face life courageously.
But my regulation was supported by the powerful consciousness and wisdom of the lavender plant. That’s how profound, yet easy, plant intitiation can be.
What you need:
For this journey you need pure lavender in some form – it can be essential oil, the plant itself, or dried lavender (for tea). Using all these combined will enhance the journey.
You can also make yourself a lavender tincture or lavender body oil.
In addition you can add amethyst crystals if you feel drawn to crystals. Amethyst can reduce anxiety levels. This crystal has an extremely soothing purple hue (like lavender), and has the wonderful ability to manage your emotions and calm you during moments of extreme stress.
Journey with Lavender
You can choose to do this journey for 21 days, a month, or 42 days (double 21 days – it is said that to form a new habit it takes 21 days, and to integrate this transformation into your system it takes another 21 days).
The steps:
Do the following for the amount of days, and the form of Lavender, you chose:
- Drinking Lavender tea daily (while doing nothing else, just enjoying the tea)
- Using Lavender essential oil daily on your Crown and 3rd Eye chakras, and also inhaling the scent (use your intuition here, and use where you feel called to)
- Inhaling the scent of the plant itself (flowers), and sitting with the plant (if it’s in your garden) or having lavender flowers with you where you spend your day.
- Meditate with Lavender.
Also do this daily (additionally):
Stand with bare feet on the grass, in the soil, or somewhere outside for 10-20 minutes, daily.
While doing this imagine pulling in Earth energies through the soles of your feet into your Root chakra, and then into your whole body. You can bent your knees slowly while inhaling and then exhaling while making your legs straight again (but don’t lock your knees).
